Rusted screws and broken heads made for hard work as the steel runner blades were removed from their oak bases. The runners are a critical component of the Sea Scout DN 1228 recently purchased by Sea Scout Ship Intrepid (41).
The steel blades were very rusty and dull. You could see that at one time there was a 90 degree point on the blade.
The steel blades will be professionally sandblasted and sharpened so that a 90 degree point is presented to the ice. Jan C.
